An effect of Mega Serials...

Chapter 1 : Looking to Escape

Bangalore is blessed by the weather God to have a beautiful climate mostly all through the year, with its warm, bright mornings and cozy cold evenings . The very look of bangalore, except traffic, is attractive. Lush green parks in the heart of a residential locality, lovely trees with those lavender flowers, small yet busy fast food shops serving crispy hot masala dosas are few reasons for any one to love the City of Bangalore.

Our friend Vishi is not in a mood to enjoy this pleasant misty evening, in fact he is looking panicky and sweating all over, beating the cold weather in Bangalore. He is thinking of leaving Bangalore immediately without anyone's notice and he has no time left. He looks at his watch, it was some where around 8 25 pm and the road looks deserted. "Thanks to the 8 pm serial in the tv channels" he said to himself. He has ample amount of time to catch the night train to chennai at 22 45 hrs and would be able to leave Bangalore. It will hardly take 45 minutes to one hr in an auto rickshaw. Let me run to the main road before any one sees me here. Praying to God that no one shud have seen him leaving that house, he just looked back to ensure that no one is following him. He is confused, frustrated and tired, wanted badly to rest for a while to catch up on his breath. He still could not think about what happened in THAT house.

He has a job in hand! He has to leave this city before he gets caught ! Take an Auto, said the mind. Hurried walking, now changed to running. he was literally running. He could hear his heart thumping out loud. He remembered his doctor words, for your age your heart beat should not be more than 165 bpm, higher will cause heart attacks. He was not able to imagine how it feels when the heart beats more than 165 bpm when the doctor said that, he will be thirsty that his mouth will not be able to generate saliva ! He really suck his breath all through from his stomach which gave him the saliva, the water that he needed to keep him running. Finally, here it is Bannerghatta Road. The mere look of the Reliance Mart made him feel that he reached much safer place. Autos are available in plenty here, he said to himself. Much to his luck, he could see an auto parked in the left side of the road. Looks like the Auto driver is having a sip of his coffee in the adigas restaurant to beat the cold. He can easily get hold of him , who in turn can take him to the Bangalore City Station. When he neared the auto, suddenly it striked his mind NOoooooooO!!!! " Don't take an auto", may be later the Police might be able to track me down to the Auto driver and in turn they can easily find that I left Bangalore. Make sense, he said to himself again. Looks like he now talks to him more than a mentally insane.

By this time, he already crossed the parked auto with his face comfortably hidden under the blue base ball cap that he was wearing. He has only one option left, to walk all through from Bannerghatta road till the Bangalore city station, even buses are not a great option as someone might notice him. this is the problem of working in Bangalore, one or the other person somehow knows most of the IT employees since all of them work for the famous IT companies. This is gonna be a long walk for him to reach the station. He had to go past the IIM Bangalore, Jayanagar, lalbagh and corporation circle before he reaches the station. Unfortunately, the time is ticking for his train to Chennai ...!

Now his thought process is all clear...Walk to the station, buy an unreserved ticket so that there is no necessity of showing an ID proof and go to Chennai. Once reached chennai, I will be one among the millions and it will not be so easy for anyone to locate me. The last train he is supposed to catch has already left mysore and the driver just pressed the lever to speed up the train so that he can reach Bangalore city on time...

Fireworks

It was a windy, cold weather forecast for that day in Chicago. Beating all the weather blues, there were thousands of people gathered in this area. Damn the cold...You don't get to see this quite often! My friends in Chicago already made us well prepared to be there 2 hrs before the actual show so that we are in the vantage position to see the show! Here it started, "Woww...What an amazing sight!!! this is the sight to see " screamed my friend,Standing on the Navy pier in Chicago, looking at the fireworks display for the Independence day celebrations ...!!! I too have to admit that it was espléndido!!! One could not have imagined the beauty of the display! The creativity was at its best . When everyone was trying to capture the moments for them to savor it later, my thoughts started wandering towards my motherland! "This is the beauty of the mind, isnt it?, you can be in two different places at the same time ..!

The fireworks that you see are mostly made in China or in India. I actually hail from a place which is pretty close to the hub of manufacturing these esplendido fireworks , "Sivakasi". At least once in a year, you hear news about some factory blasts due to the mishandling of these so called "gun powders" ending up in huge losses of lives of all ages.

Do you know its very risky to produce these fireworks?

Do you know there are lots of children work all through the day so that you get to enjoy these visual display of colors?

Do you know that these are produced in very primitive factories where they dont even have basic amenities?

I completely agree, there are few big companies that are doing it better and avoiding child labors trying to be compliant oriented, but then still majority of these manufacturers are still not up to the mark of world standards ?

For us to enjoy the twenty minutes of fireworks , across the globe, there is actually a child which is losing its twenty years of his /her childhood ?? Imagine the amount of fireworks that goes across the globe during the new year? Next time, when you see those beautiful colors lighting up the sky, try to imagine a child's face in the center of it! That imaginary child figure can look more brighter if he/she had got the education that they deserve!

This is just not it! the black powder, Barium Nitrate, that is used for the fireworks/blasts is certainly NOT healthy! People working on these factories are actually not aware of how much the problems that it can pose to continuous exposure of these chemicals. Think about these people who are suffering to make this work for you...to give a splendid treat to your eyes...!

All the more, I am not going to talk about the environmental health hazards that these fireworks bring in ! visit http://environment.about.com/od/healthenvironment/a/toxicfireworks.htm these sites will help you know more about it.

Good news is that, there are few companies that started making environment friendly fireworks, but then it is not even 10% of the total consumption. These environment friendly fireworks are too expensive to be sold on a regular basis.

I am not asking you to stop enjoying the fireworks right away! but reduce it. if any of your friend is spending more on fireworks, educate him on what it is all about. Help the needy in a different way, sponsor a child for his/her education.

Boooooooommmmm.. that big blast helped me to come back to reality... Navy pier...here they are ..still enjoying the beauty of the fireworks...! I started to walk towards my friend to share my thoughts on this fireworks. Let me try to change..."the change that I wish to see in this world.!!!"

It all starts from me .....I started...How about you???!!!!???!!

Say no to "Child Labor" !!!! Protest it with Vigor!

Valuable Time Inside The Flight

I heard recently that, soon you can use your mobile phones during your flight...aaarrrggghhh!!! Think of it, I would say its the only time that you have for your ownself..be it listening to the music, watching the movies, thinking freely out of the box on what you would like to be and most of all to chew over the past of your ownself....to look back and enjoy your journey of life...! All will be gone, when they let us use the mobile phones inside the flight...

With the advent of mobile phones, your personal time for your ownself is Lost...Hey, dont think that i am against all these inventions...These are very good tools for communication, making us feel that we all of us are just fingertip away.! Its excellent, but then on the otherside, you have the nuisance of those phones ringing exactly at the wrong time... you know what I mean!!!

Try this during your next flight, Think about how pleasing it was :

1. a small trip in the horse pulled rickshaws ( kuthirai vandi )...the happiness that you got when you get a white horse rickshaw...

2. Those good old days of going out with your friend thoughtlessly. Every minute of those days were filled with happiness. Life, on those days, revolve around your friends and friends only!

3. Your trip to your grandparents. Enjoying all the pampering, getting what all you wanted....

4. Making of friends during your train travels... I can at least count handful of train friends whom I remember...Ofcourse, I am not in touch with any of them the very minute I got outof the train.

5. Excellent time that your parents gave you, trying to work all their life out to get what you wanted in your life, be it your bicycle or the latest motorbike that you had during your college days. We had No clue of what it is to budgetting your expenses...You simply asked them as your parents are the only bank that you knew.

6. the time that you spent with your girl/boy friends when you had a complete crush on one another...Sweet..huh?

7. Last but not never the least, Your marriage day...How excited you were..! Think about how much your wife had given her life for you leaving everyone that she knew about in her whole life and how much she had taken you for granted ;-)

..Lots of this kind to write about.!!!

Give few minutes of your time to think about all the friends/ relatives who came on your way of life... List 10 of the people whom you think are/were so close to you... Right down in the near by column when you met with them last time , how much time you spent, when was the last time you called him...so on!!! What you liked about them... how pleasant were they to you...You will be surprised, if you start doing this even a day long flight might feel short... very short...and YOU will get into the habit of switching off your mobile when you board...to get that sweet little time for your ownselves...

After all...Most of us live in the vivid memories of the past to get some mental freshness to tackle the future that unfolds in front of you!!!

Now tell me if you have the habit of doing this, wouldn't it be too much irritating that half the way...mobile rings, even if not yours the adjacent person mobile rings!!!! Talk less..think more...have a great time during your next flight...let me know how it felt!?!

Anyways, thanks for reading friends...! your time means a lot to me!! Keep visiting...I will try to put together my incoherent thoughts...for your valuable reading!

Jai Ho!

This is really the moment for any Indian to be proud of! One Indian made all of us proud - A R Rahman!! Do you know this is the podium where all stalwarts of the filming industry would like to end up one day! This is the place where Dons, my all time favorites, Denzel, De Niro, Jack Nicholson, Halle Berry, Tom Hanks stood with pride!

Now let me ask you this question? How many of you have listened to Jai Ho song from Slumdog Millionaire before it was nominated for oscars? I certainly would not say that Jai Ho is the best of Ar Rahman at any time!!! C'mon , i am sure you agree to that as well!!! isnt it so? The feeling of patriotism when you hear " Vande Mataram - Maa Tujhe Salam " is it there in this Jai Ho? Don't you think the BGM of Roja when the Hero ( arvindswamy) gets beaten up gives you the adernalin of patriotism to your nerves than those of Jai Ho! Certainly! What i am trying to say is that...AR R deserves an Oscar well before this slumdog millionaire! Not only that...Remember melodies of RD Burman? REmember the Maestro's performances....! It is Not only Ar Rahman... we had quite a Lot of music directors who deserves Oscars... but then they were not recognized well before due to the partiality shown in the place and people who had it produced.

Then whats so special with Slumdog Millionaire ????? Well, it is pretty obvious, it is produced , directed by a WESTERNER , It is being very well marketed... I am sure the Oscar team will consider this...Coz, what i see in their views is that... Yes, An Indian is being awarded an Oscar , but you know why? coz he has been moulded well by a westerner...! Ha haha..! If Oscar is truly international, then there are 100's of tunes that deserves an oscar those are produced Asians...The Oscar that AR R got, I would say, was the moment when he heard his Vande mataram being played during our Indian Independence day Parade!

One way I am happy that an Indian Alien (isnt that we are called so by Americans !) got the Oscars, proving to be better than most of the American musicians! but on the other side... I am very scared that we celebrate the Oscar awards more than the padmashri's awarded in India for the dedication in their respective fields....!!!

Take few minutes of your time...think, may be you will join hands with me soon in celebrating with me for the next padmashri awardees :)

Having said all this... ! This is my first time blogging boss!!! I am just expressing my views... I really dont want to hurt anyone or call for any heated discussions on this topic... !!! Its a free Blog...why shud i not write, what i feel ?!!!

JAI HO!
